As many of you know, I am engaged! Since planning a wedding can be overwhelming, I thought it would be a great idea to include all of you in my planning process. Don’t you ever wonder how wedding professionals plan their weddings? Throughout the next year and a half, I will share with you my thoughts, experiences, and recommendations. ENJOY! SEPTEMBER 27, 2008 ENGAGED! I am so happy to say I got engaged last night! I was surprised, I didn’t know that it was coming. I mean, I thought it was going to happen in the near future, but not LAST NIGHT. Brian (my fiancé) took us to where we had our first date in Boston. Everything was so memorable. I am still in shock. I have no plans yet, I am going to enjoy being engaged for awhile.
November 18, 2008 Everything has settled a little bit. I still don’t have a date but we are thinking 2010. We are building a house in 2009 and I just think it will be just too much (and too expensive) for us to build the house and plan a wedding. We have thrown out ideas like going to an island or Vegas, or having the traditional wedding. It is hard because having a small wedding would be great, but I just don’t want to regret not having the traditional wedding. Hopefully, I will have some progress soon. I will keep you posted!
January 3, 2009 Happy New Years! Hope everyone has a great holiday! So over the holidays, we decided that we want the traditional wedding. We were thinking of places to have it and were having a hard time. Many of our friends have gotten married in the area and have used most of the good venues, but we want to do something original. Plus, I won’t lie, I do have some pressure (mainly from myself) to have the perfect wedding since I plan them for people all the time. Brian loves the mountains and we met up in North Conway, so we went and took a look at the Mount Washington Hotel and Resort and we completely fell in love. When I walked in there, I could picture myself getting married there. I love the old world feel and architecture. Brian loved it too, which is a huge plus. Anytime you can get the guy involved is great. Even though it is a couple of hours away, we figure our guests can look at it as a vacation weekend. Originally, I wanted to get married during a time when I am not that busy, which is only November and December, but I don’t want to go up to the Mount Washington Hotel in the winter. After much discussion, we decided to have a tentative date in June 2010. That gives me a enough time to plan my work schedule around my wedding. And June in the mountains is much better than December in the mountains. I am not a cold person. Next time we go up to North Conway, we have a meeting with the wedding coordinator to discuss our options. I will let you know how that goes!
January 18, 2009 So I thought I was going to have a DJ, but after seeing the World Premiere Band at the Wedding Day Expositions bridal show, I am completely in love with them. They are the best band I have ever seen. If you are looking for a band, I highly recommend them, just not on the weekend of my wedding.:) I do most of the fashion shows for Wedding Day Exposition Bridal Shows, so I get to see a lot of vendors and believe me I hate talking to vendors just as much as the next person, so when I am there I try not to talk about my wedding because I don’t want to get harassed. But I won’t lie, the World Premiere Band is on the pricey side, but if you hear them you will think they deserve every penny. I just have to think about whether I can fit them into the budget.
